Overview
- Department: Research and Development.
- Profile: Student in Mechatronic or Electrical Engineering. The aim is to clarify intricate data sets and workflows and turn abstract information into actionable and intuitive insights for workers.
Objectives and Expected Outcomes
- Modernize existing work processes by introducing digital tools based on Augmented Reality (AR) to visualize and interact with complex datasets and workflows.
- Deliver prototypes or demonstrators that allow workers to understand data flows, monitor processes in real time, and make actionable decisions.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Real-time monitoring: implement solutions to display live process data and KPIs within AR views to support decision-making on the shop floor.
- Interactive content creation: produce 3D models and animated AR content that overlays contextual information onto equipment or workflows.
- Predict workflow optimizations: analyze data streams and propose workflow changes or automated hints presented through AR to improve efficiency.
Required Skills & Technologies
- 3D modelling and animation experience (creation and optimization of assets for AR consumption).
- Programming skills in C#, C++ or Java to develop interactive AR applications and integrate with data sources.
- Familiarity with AR development frameworks, real-time data visualization techniques and basic mechatronic or electrical system concepts is a plus.
Practical Details & Deliverables
- Duration: 06 Months (internship length stated on the project; expected commitment 4-6 months).
- Number of interns: 02. Expected deliverables include an AR prototype/demo, documentation of workflows, and a report on proposed optimizations.
