Overview
- Department: Engineering - Production - Maintenance.
- Profile: Student/intern in Industrial Engineering, Logistics.
- Objective: Analyse process steps to identify sources of delays and implement actions aimed at reducing total production or supply lead time.
Main Tasks / Responsibilities
- Map current workflows and identify bottlenecks across production and supply processes.
- Analyze lead times and related data (production, inventory, logistics) to quantify delays and their root causes.
- Implement improvements (pilot actions or process changes) and monitor results using relevant KPIs.
- Document findings, results and suggest continuous improvement actions for long-term lead time reduction.
Required Skills & Deliverables
- Required Skills: Knowledge of Lean tools and process mapping; competency in data analysis of production, inventory and logistics metrics.
- Expected Deliverables: Process maps, bottleneck analysis report, improvement action plan, before/after lead time analysis and final recommendations.
- Number of Interns: 02 interns to collaborate on mapping, data collection and implementation activities.
Practical Details & Methodology
- Methods: Use Lean methodologies, process mapping, time studies, data collection from production and inventory systems, and KPI monitoring.
- Monitoring: Define and track lead time KPIs to validate impact of implemented actions and ensure sustainable results.
