Job Description

Position: Research Engineer in Metallurgical Industry

  • Objective: Improve the durability of alloys from the circular economy by studying the influence of microstructure constituents on fatigue properties.
  • Responsibilities:
  • Analyze defects formed during the elaboration/solidification of metallic alloys.
  • Study the impact of chemical composition, elaboration parameters, and cooling kinetics on defect formation.
  • Conduct tests on non-ferrous recycled alloy specimens with controlled defects.
  • Link mechanical behaviors in tension (crack initiation and propagation) to volume microstructure.
  • Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of metallurgical processes and material properties.
  • Experience in conducting mechanical tests and analyzing results.
  • Knowledge of alloy composition and solidification control.
  • Equipment: Utilize the SPeCiMen 3D testing equipment within the LAMCUBE laboratory's PIMS platform.
