Mission: Help design and bring-up robotics electronics and embedded firmware—learning fast through prototypes, testing, and iteration.
What you’ll do
- Assist with PCB design for robotics subsystems (power, sensing, comms, compute, motor/actuation interfaces) and board bring-up.
- Implement embedded firmware building blocks on MCUs (STM32-class): drivers, comms (CAN/UART/SPI/I2C), and test utilities.
- Support validation: harnessing/connectorization, quick test fixtures, debug logs, and fault isolation in the lab.
- Collaborate with the robotics/software team to integrate sensors/actuators and iterate quickly from field feedback.
Projects (examples)
- RALLP: power + comms PCB, sensor/actuator interfaces, board bring-up, and robust field debugging for an all-terrain platform.
- RoboDog: motor/encoder/IMU interface board + embedded firmware support for a quadruped legged robot.
What you’ll bring
- Some PCB experience (KiCad/Altium) and comfort reading schematics/layouts.
- Basic embedded C/C++ and curiosity for low-level debugging; ability to follow a bring-up checklist and document findings.
- Lab comfort: oscilloscope/logic analyzer basics and careful measurement habits.
Nice to have
- DFM/DFT instincts, EMI/EMC awareness, or small-batch manufacturing exposure.
