Project Overview
- This project focuses on reducing scrap generated during the crimping process in a manufacturing environment.
- The intern will apply the DMAIC methodology from Six Sigma to study the current situation and identify root causes of scrap.
Technical Tasks
- Understand the crimping process and define the problem.
- Collect data on scrap rates and process parameters to establish baseline performance.
- Identify root causes using tools like Pareto charts and fishbone diagrams.
- Validate findings with data and propose solutions to reduce scrap.
Collaboration and Implementation
- Collaborate with production teams for the implementation of proposed solutions.
- Develop control plans to sustain improvements and ensure long-term success.
