Project overview
- Address inefficiencies caused by unbalanced workstations, non-ergonomic setups and lack of standardization on the NACS production line.
- Focus on material and tool handling optimization, reducing operator fatigue and improving overall line efficiency; includes 5S improvements.
Main tasks and methodology
- Perform workstation balancing: time studies, Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and cycle time analysis to identify bottlenecks and imbalances.
- Evaluate and redesign non-ergonomic workstations; propose and implement adequate material and tool supports and standardized work sequences.
- Implement 5S and other Lean tools to improve material flow and reduce waste of motion and time.
Expected results and deliverables
- Delivery of a balanced production line with ergonomic workstations and standardized work instructions.
- Measurable improvements including optimized production flow and a target increase in efficiency by 20%.
- Documentation of time-study results, VSM, proposed workstation layouts, implementation plan and training materials for operators.
Candidate profile
- Industrial Engineer or equivalent with interest/experience in ergonomics, process optimization and Lean manufacturing.
- Skills in time studies, VSM, cycle time analysis, ergonomics assessment, data analysis and practical implementation of 5S.
