Description du poste
Project overview
Design and build a device capable of verifying the correct polarity/channel allocation of fiber optic (FO) assemblies.
The equipment must automatically detect and validate whether the polarity configuration is correct and present a clear pass/fail decision for each tested assembly.
Objectives & expected results
Deliver a fully functional prototype of a polarity test device with automated pass/fail criteria based on channel allocation.
Improve quality and reliability of FO assemblies testing, eliminate human judgement errors and increase testing speed by ~50%; support future automation initiatives.
Responsibilities & deliverables
Develop hardware (sensing, switching/multiplexing, interconnects) and embedded software required to test multi-channel FO assemblies.
Implement a user interface for operators and produce documentation: test procedures, validation reports and user manual.
Technical profile & skills required
Target profile: Electronics Engineer / Technician or Electrical Engineer/Technician (final year project level).
Technical skills: embedded systems programming, electronic circuit design, experience with fiber-optic connectors and polarity concepts, test automation and instrumentation.
Validation & testing
Define automated validation criteria for channel allocation and implement repeatable test routines.
Provide test logs, pass/fail reporting and procedures to validate device accuracy and repeatability.
Practical information
Duration: 4-6 months as stated in the topic.
Collaboration with Engineering department; deliverables include prototype, UI, documentation and test/validation evidence.
