Overview
Carbon Insights is a data intelligence company dedicated to decoding the EU carbon markets. We build analytical engines, predictive systems, and decision-support tools that help companies navigate volatility in the carbon markets. Our interns join real R&D pipelines and contribute directly to production-facing tools that power carbon market intelligence.
Duration
4–6 months
Your Mission
- Help build an automated AI engine capable of:
- Detecting news, policy updates, REMIT outage events, and sentiment signals that influence carbon price drawdowns.
- Parsing and classifying this information in real time using advanced NLP techniques and LLM-based classification.
- Linking events to market movements to identify abnormal reactions, market inefficiencies, and risk spikes.
- Generating alert signals, risk scores, and dashboard-ready outputs for internal and external clients.
Responsibilities
- Build NLP pipeline for sentiment and event classification.
- Integrate with REMIT Transparency Data platforms for Asset Market Unavailabilities.
- Detect exceptional events, align them to price moves and evaluate probability and risk.
- Deliver outputs such as alert signals, event summaries, and dashboard-ready insights for analysts and clients.
- Ensure the final system is production-ready and deployable, with clean code, modular components, and reproducible workflows.
Skills
- Python for data handling and modeling (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, PyTorch)
- NLP & LLM frameworks (Hugging Face, Transformers, LangChain, prompt engineering)
- Event & time-series analysis (market alignment, lag analysis, anomaly detection)
- Model development & deployment (training, evaluation, reproducible pipelines)
- Cloud & DevOps fundamentals (Docker, AWS, CI/CD concepts)
