Role Summary
We are looking for a BI Developer (End of Studies Intern, 6 months) to join our IS&IT Data Integration team. You will lead the migration of existing Domo assets—dataflows, datasets, dashboards, and reports—to Microsoft Fabric (Power BI), ensuring robust data modeling, performance, governance, and user experience. You’ll collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver trusted, scalable BI that supports decision-making across Medius.
What you’ll do
- Inventory and assess current Domo assets (dataflows, datasets, dashboards/reports), including dependencies, transformations, schedules, and usage.
- Design and implement target-state data models in Microsoft Fabric/Power BI (star schema, data marts) with performance, maintainability, and governance in mind.
- Rebuild and enhance dashboards/reports in Power BI, ensuring parity with Domo while improving UX, consistency, and performance.
- Develop ETL/ELT dataflows and pipelines in Fabric (e.g., Dataflows Gen2, Pipelines), and configure refresh, lineage, and monitoring.
- Implement security and governance (e.g., RLS, workspace structure, naming conventions, documentation standards).
- Optimize DAX and Power Query (M) for incremental refresh, and efficient dataset design.
- Validate end-to-end data accuracy with robust testing plans; manage stakeholder sign-off.
- Produce clear technical and user documentation; deliver handover and enablement sessions for end users and support teams.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and BI best practices across the IS&IT organization.
Technologies and environment
- Microsoft Fabric (Power BI, Dataflows Gen2, OneLake, Pipelines)
- Domo (dataflows, datasets, dashboards)
- DAX, Power Query (M), SQL
- Optional/plus: Python, REST APIs, Azure services
What You’ll Bring
- Final-year student in Computer Science, Data/BI, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (eligible for a 6-month end-of-studies internship).
- Hands-on experience with Power BI (data modeling, DAX, Power Query) and solid SQL skills.
- Understanding of ETL/ELT concepts, dimensional modeling (star/snowflake), and the BI lifecycle.
- Familiarity with data governance (RLS, documentation, naming/versioning) and dashboard UX.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to collaborate with both business and technical audiences.
- Proficiency in English.
- Preferred: Exposure to Microsoft Fabric beyond Power BI (e.g., Pipelines, OneLake); knowledge of sales, finance, and marketing metrics and reporting; experience with agile tools (Jira/Confluence); scripting with Python or working with REST APIs.
