Project objective
- Use software (e.g., FlexSim, Tecnomatix) to simulate and balance workloads across stations.
- Improve assembly line performance by applying line balancing techniques and cycle time optimization.
What you will do
- Build and validate simulation models of existing assembly lines using industrial simulation tools (FlexSim, Tecnomatix or similar).
- Analyze station workloads, identify bottlenecks and propose layout or task redistribution to achieve balanced takt times.
- Produce and interpret Yamazumi charts and other visualizations to support balancing decisions.
Required expertise & tools
- Understanding of production and assembly line operations and line balancing techniques (e.g., Yamazumi charts, cycle time optimization).
- Experience with simulation or industrial engineering tools (FlexSim, Tecnomatix, or equivalent) and data analysis for throughput and resource utilization.
Department, supervision & logistics
- Department: Methods.
- Number of trainees: 1.
- This PFE involves close collaboration with production and methods teams to collect cycle times, station tasks and validation data.
