Overview
- Department: Quality. Project aim: implementation of an SPC (Statistical Process Control) system in ALVA's sewing process.
- Main objective: define the SPC system, simulate it on selected production lines, validate simulation results and produce a concrete implementation plan for deployment.
Main Tasks & Deliverables
- Define the SPC framework: selection of key quality characteristics, sampling plans, control chart types and specification limits adapted to sewing operations.
- Simulate SPC on selected production lines: collect or synthesize process data, build control charts, run simulation scenarios and evaluate performance (false alarms, detection capability).
- Validate simulations: compare simulated outcomes with existing production/inspection data, refine parameters and produce validation reports.
- Produce implementation plan: step-by-step rollout plan, required resources, training needs, data collection procedures and KPIs for monitoring post-implementation.
Profile & Required Skills
- Education: Master/Engineering degree in industrial engineering, quality, textile engineering or related field.
- Technical skills: basic knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), understanding of quality tools (control charts, defect measurement), good data analysis skills (Excel or similar).
- Personal skills: problem-solving and analytical thinking, comfortable with manufacturing processes and handling production data.
Logistics & Additional Information
- Number of trainees: 1 intern.
- Expected duration: 6 months (4-6 months as stated).
- Expected activities: data collection from sewing lines, creation of control charts, root-cause analysis exercises, preparation of training/materials for shop-floor teams and final implementation roadmap.
